Meditating is free. It does not cost a cent. Anyone can do it, any time, anywhere. The sick can mediate, the old can meditate, the young can meditate, and the healthy can meditate. Yet, that are many people who believe that one has to be taught how to meditate and that the teacher must be a well known guru or master. They believe that there is a certain way to meditate and that it has to be done 'correctly' to get any value.
As a result, there are expensive meditation schools and teachers all over the world. You can research any country and find a school to attend and a guru or master to follow. You can spend a little or a lot. Some religious groups will let you stay in their monasteries and convents and meditate in silence. The lodgings will be austere and the food simple.
You can also attend a luxury meditation school and be pampered. The lodgings will be luxurious, the food will be spectacular and cooked by a master chef, and, at many of these establishments you can indulge yourself in spa treatments.
Only the individual person knows what the best method is for them.
